 Hats Off To Daisy!!!

As I cruised through the front door of Wally World yesterday, once again, something caught my eye that made me think of someone here on the "stream".  And it made me smile, thinking of my wonderful friend.

So, I bought these in honor of our resident "Daisy" and they are now a constant reminder of a lovely lady.  So I wanted to share these with all of you and declare this "Daisy's Day"!!!

So, here's to Daisy!  I love ya, girlfriend!!

 Happiness on a Deeper Level

As I sit here tonight, back at my computer perch in the kitchen, listening to the music coming from the living room, I'm struck by the level of my contentment.

As Johnny Horton, Jim Reeves, Alan Jackson and so many others sing to me, I lean back in my chair and survey my surroundings.  And I realize that I wouldn't change a thing.

Here in this house that I bought on my own and furnished on my own with the intention of living here and enjoying single life forever.  I was so wrong about the single part........and thankfully so.

For the only thing I didn't realize was missing was the perfect person to share this home with.  It's now complete and I've never known such contentment in my life.......just sitting here in my chair......in "our" kitchen.

And the one that makes it so complete just around the corner in his own chair, at his own computer, as his playlist goes on and the Bellamy Brothers sing "Vertical Expression of a Horizontal Desire"......I love that song.  I think I'll wander in there and see if the Iceman wants to dance....ahhhhhh.

 I'm Stuffed!

(warning)  "The Surgeon General has determined that reading the following post is hazardous to your diet" (This warning was recommended by Mokie Joe)

During my recent period of "invalidism" (is that a word?), I watched a lot of the Food Network and decided that I should try to cook some different cuisine once I got back on my feet.  Sooooo, Ice decided that might be a great idea also and we took the plunge today.

Since he's the more patient shopper, I prepared a list of things we've never ever bought before and we both hoped for the best.  Well, like a champ, he came home with all the right stuff, including fresh herbs, garlic, and some various canned and jarred stuff we had never heard of.

So, I decided to take the challenge and cook Chicken Parmesiana from scratch, which included chopping garlic that I must admit had never even held in my hand before.  I always thought it smelled like someone making rubber tires, so I've always avoided it like the plague.  But......I've decided to be more open minded about my food and try to acquire a taste for some new things.  So it was Chicken Parmesiana:

Ceasar Salad (yum) with dressing made from scratch:

And I must admit, my favorite part was the crunchy garlic bread that was fabulous!  It took me 20 minutes just to mix up the butter mixture to put on it and it was worth it!:

Oh, and we topped it off with a grit custard pie that will melt in your mouth:

It was a lot of work and way more steps than I'm used to taking, but I enjoyed it.  Ice loved it and we both were glad for a change of cuisine.

Now, is anybody hungry?  We've got a ton of this stuff left over!  Or if anybody wants the recipes I followed, let me know and I'll send it to ya!

Now, scuze me while I get myself a cup of coffee, put my feet up and watch a movie with the Iceman.  Ahhhhh......

p.s.  Check out the lastest installment of the "Lost Twelve" over on Ice's new blog "nowhere man" !

p.s.s.  Since I've had a couple of requests for these recipes, the meal can be found at The Meal (including the chicken, salad, and bread and Here's The Pie

Are we gullible comsumers? and Peanut says hey!

It's Friday, Folks!  And Peanut is needing a bath, but a happy boy.

I finally got the big board meeting out of the way Wednesday that I had been working day and night to prepare for and had some really positive results from the meeting.  So, Ice and I took yesterday off and enjoyed a nice day doing odds and ends or just whatever suited us at the moment.  It was wonderful.

I decommissioned and tore down my temporary "recliner based" office, put everything back where it should be, vacuumed a ton of dirt out of the carpet and raked an inch of dust off the furniture.  Whew, it's nice to have the living room back to normal.

Speaking of back to normal, I actually slept until Ice woke me this morning, completely comfortable and rested.  And I realized that my new CPAP machine is working very well and the evidence of that is the fact that he can wake me in the morning and not have to tell me what my name is or where I am.  Literally!  lol  I can actually think and answer a simple question immediately, instead of waiting at least half an hour and two cups of coffee.  I'm rather enjoying it and now I know that if the case may be that I have to jump out of bed and hit the shower immediately, I will no longer fear drowning.  Oh, the simple pleasures we take for granted, lol.  See, I'm not hard to please.

So much for that useless drivel.  Thanks to all you girls who have been to the Purse Posse and renewed your pledge.  I love you all and don't ever forget.............PURSE POWER!!!!!!!  hehe

I gotta get going, but I was thinking yesterday about salesman's tricks.  You know the kind of "magic" tricks they use to sell you on something that really is just that?....a trick.  So I thought I'd throw one out there that I know of and see if you guys can add for everybody's information.

1.  The bowling ball jumping up and down trick on the mattress commercials:  Did you know that when you put the cover on the mattress, you can no longer do that?  That trick will work on any mattress "BEFORE" the cover is attached.

So, if you know another "selling trick", post it here and let us all know!

Gotta go! Love to all!

Pup

p.s.  I finally got the graphics off Ice's comment page, but somehow got my "peachy pink" transferred on to that same page, which he's not too fond of, but I'll try and rectify that this weekend.  So you can now read his comments, but it's definitely not his choice of colors.  Just wanted to clarify that for his sake, lol.  I'm gone!

"Celebrating the Dawn" or "Love's Rythme"

Just out of bed and dreading a really busy day, drinking my coffee and trying to get my eyes open.....so sleepy.....too much work to do.......more than mildly irritated...

But then you click the playlist and crank up the speakers as you go about your morning routine, and the magic happens, once again.

The music invades my hearing and floods my mind and I am instantly uplifted.  I watch as you are caught up in the music and the words.....

You pause between donning articles of clothing to close your eyes and move with the music.  Your "safari" work hat goes on early and tilted to one side, as you wink at me from underneath.....before closing your eyes and rocking with the rythme.

That blissful smile that good music brings to your face has mesmerized me once again and I'm caught up in the flow.  And as I rise to go about my morning routine, coming together as we cross paths.....we separate only to meet again in another room to do it again....singing along as we go.....

Half-dressed morning dancers....experiencing life in our morning bliss.  May the music never stop and may we dance in the morning forever.

What a way to start the day....ahhhh.......sing it Brook, Patsy, Alan.....
