Warm little butterballs, so soft in my hands and feel so silky against my cheek.......
Yeah, I'm in love again! This time with 15 fat little sweet puppies. They are growing so fast and are such large litters that we went out earlier to take them out of their birthing boxes and give them the entire pen area to spread out and give them some room to start using their little legs more to move around.
Sally's litter of seven have their eyes open and LaQuinta's litter of eight should have theirs open tomorrow. We already have three spoken for just from folks that have been watching our website and I hope to get lots more calls even before we advertise. We have established a pretty good reputation for having healthy and well cared-for puppies, so it's always a pleasure to get a call from someone that is willing to wait for one of our puppies, rather than buy one immediately from just anybody that's advertising. Yeah, I'm patting us on the back a little here, but Ice and I take pride in taking very good care of our dogs and wouldn't have it any other way. You'd be surprised just how many breeders don't (sadly). These dogs work hard for us, so we work twice as hard for them. Besides, we love em! Who wouldn't?
This is Peanut's first litter and they are by far the darkest litter we've ever had. They're just beautiful and I'm just fascinated to have puppies of a different color than we've ever had. I didn't think we'd ever have black puppies with all the salt & pepper (or white) adults that we have, but I guess LaQuinta and Peanut were just the right combination.
I'll try to get some new pictures of the puppies this weekend and get them posted.....our 15 little beauties....
Oh, and Sugar is finally "in season" for the first time, so we're keeping her separated from all the males. With two of the pens taken up with puppies and thier mothers, poor Sugar is having to go with me to the office, so she's getting more rotten by the day. She's nine months old and too young to be having puppies, so in six months, she will be ready for Peanut. I can't wait to see the puppies from those two. But since Prissy is to come in "season" any day, that means Prissy and Sugar will most likely get pregnant really close together and once again, we'll have two litters really close together. Would somebody please send me a case of Calgon? lol
Well, that's enough of the puppy talk. I wanted to thank everybody for coming to our "impromptu" party. The dates were mixed up, so I apologize to all of you (yes Lou, that means you too, lol) for missing the party because of the mixup. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and will have an even better New Year!
That wonderful man that spoils me rotten and shares my life surprised me with a beautiful diamond tennis bracelet this year, so I guess I was a pretty good girl this year, ya think? lol. Thank you, Iceman! You shouldn't have, but that's okay......I can live with it!!!! I love you, Baby.
Well, that's all the news, so I'll shut up and get on to the next project on my list, which is "surf the stream".
Love to all!
