Life With Schnauzers

 New Recruits Sign Up Here!

Well, it seems our old advosary is back and lurking around.  Yep, it's ole Jim snoopin around pokin his nose into Purse Posse secrets.  He has re-entered the stream under the alias of Cap'n Kidd at Pirate's Cafe.  However, my keen instincts allowed me to expose this scoundrel.

So.......since some of our members have gone their own ways, we need new recruits.  So, ladies!  Empty those purses and list their contents on this post.  One new member (Sherry) has been signed up already tonight in an undisclosed location and I see lots more possible members here in the "stream".

Contents of purses should be listed in entirety, leaving nothing off the list, so be brave ladies and dig in!

Any current members are also encouraged to take this challenge as a "refresher".  Thank you!

Pup

Update!!!  Those pirates down at the cafe have also enlisted the help of M.I.B.  All Purse Posse are now on alert for infiltrators looking for our secret devise.  Stand by!

 God Help Us!

I swear we're raising a monster!  I've never seen a puppy so wild and mean as little Sugar.  And I think she is sharpening those little teeth on anything and everything that she can because I simply can't handle her anymore when she's wanting to play............which is all the time!

I made the mistake of sitting in the floor to play with her after supper and I thought the little turd was going to eat me alive!  I'm really surprised that all the rest of the dogs aren't walking around on bloody stumps from her chewing on them constantly.   Do they make Ritilin for dogs?  Just wondering....

Dazey and I were comparing notes on our Schnauzer puppies today and she was cracking me up totally.  She was telling about Lulu going full blast til she literally drops where she is and sleeps.  What was really funny was when she told me about taking Lulu for walks and when Lulu gets tired, she just lays down.  So poor Dazey has to carry her home with the neighbors laughing at them.  The mental picture just did me in, lol.

But seriously, I don't remember Junior ever being as active as Sugar.  Or maybe time has just faded my memory, ya think?

Or have I blocked it from my mind in self defense?

All I could think about while this wild puppy was trying to rip flesh from my bones was attending our annual seminar next Friday with chew marks all over me.  And all 150 attendees wondering if the director of the local domestic violence agency is being abused herself?  And me having to admit that it's true.   Hubby?  Heck no!  It's a little white five pound monster!  I'm sure I'll get a lot of sympathy, don't ya think?  lol

I know!  I'll just take little miss TEETH with me and see how long it takes for the ooooo's and awwww's to evolve into ouch's and shocked terror.

Hmmm.....I think it's a brilliant plan.  Whataya think?

 When I snooze....I lose.

Finally, I'm getting answers for my chronic tiredness that I've experienced for several years.  I'm as sick of saying "Why am I so tired?" to my doctor as I'm sure he is of hearing it.  I'd had all the tests.  Nothing showed up to explain it.  I had even considered chalking it up to chemotherapy that I just never really bounced back from.

I made the decision to take the sleep test as a last resort, not just for the fatigue, but because when I researched it on the net, I learned that sleep apnea also causes high blood pressure, which I've also battled for years.  The problem with that is since I was always so tired anyway, I couldn't take any medication that really worked because it also knocked me out.  And I learned that apnea aggravates A.D.D. and causes depression and anxiety.

Made sense to me, since I was having problems with all the above.  My last echo cardiogram showed the damage done to my heart from the high blood pressure, so I knew I had to come up with some answers.

I'm totally fed up with a lot of the modern medicines that are tauted as the "miracle drugs of the century", but have side affects that can drastically decline your quality of life or slowly kill you.  I had that experience with the statin drugs for cholesterol.  So, I decided I was going to try to find some answers that didn't involve just another handful of these lethal pills.

The final results aren't in for the sleep study, but the stats and numbers were sent to my doctor and we went over them today.  His eyebrows shot up at first glance and told me that I had stopped breathing 98 times during the study.  Well, that was enough to get my attention.  Bingo!  Finally, some answers, by George!

You'd have to know how tired I've been to understand why I'm ready to celebrate having sleep apnea.  But I'll gladly wear a mask at night if I can get up in the morning refreshed for a change and not because of the aforementioned handful of pills.  That's great news to me!

I also made up my mind to go the natural way to combat depression and anxiety and ordered some highly recommended natural remedies for that.  I've taken them for two days and am already noticing an impovement.  Naturally!  I feel like I'm finally doing a few things right and hope to reap the benefits.

So I may be a greasy ole worn out duck (see previous post), but I'm a hopeful duck!  lol

 Belle Started It

You Are Duck
Exotic and unusual, you are a bit of a rare bird - literally.
You're known for being soft and succulent, though at times you can be a bit greasy.
GREASY??!!! Heck, I don't even LIKE duck! I had myself figured as well rounded hamburger or something. Or maybe a West Texas Jack Rabbit. But DUCK??? Nawwwww

 Am I coming or going?

My world is still spinning............ three round trips to the city in a little over a week and I'm wondering if I'm coming or going.

So, If I'm babbling, just pay me no mind, okay?  I wonder if the effects of jet lag apply to fast road trips?  Hmmm....something to think about.  However, even though I'm totally pooped, I have managed to secure over a hundred thousand dollars of funding for yet another year.  If I wasn't so tired, I'd celebrate, lol.

It's Friday night, y'all!!!!  Ice has a great play list going and I'm just wallowing in the fact that it's the weekend, there's great music playing, we have no company, and my handsome hunk just a few feet away.  Life is soooooo good.  Ahhhh.

"Chain of Fools".........."Car Wash".......

I haven't been around enough to even know what all is going on here at the stream, so it may take me a long time to catch up.  Besides the three trips, we've had company for a week, had a broken down central air system, a broken down car (on one of my trips), and I also spent one night during all this at a sleep clinic.  Now that was an experience!

I felt like an experiment gone wrong by some mad scientist!  I'm kidding, it wasn't that bad.  Wasn't really bad at all except being hooked to so many wires that I finally realized how some women who are blessed with lots of heavy hair manage to get headaches.  lol  I had so many wired hooked to my head that the weight of them gave me a headache, for pete's sake.

All those wires were connected to a box that I could carry around until time to turn out the lights and all I could think about was "Daddy would be so proud", lol.  See, my Dad is an electrician and I'm sure he'd have been really impressed with all the colorful wires and how they were all so beautifully coordinated and strung from my head to that box.  Of course there was other hardware attached when it was time to turn in, so by the time they turned out the lights and said "Nighty nite", I couldn't move, much less get comfortable.

I finally rolled very very carefully to my side, and hugged up to an extra pillow so that I just might manage to get to sleep and pulled a terminal loose in the process.  By this time, I also had wires on my chin, my neck and my legs, so it's a thousand wonders that I didn't pull it all loose.  Anyway, I did finally manage to sleep, only to have them rake me out of the bed at five thirty in the morning!

Now, this puppy ain't no morning person, ask Ice.  They jerked all the wiring loose, handed me a thimble full of coffee, turned me in the direction of the elevator and said, "See ya".

...........uh........like I'm gonna drive 70 miles, right out of bed, with only a thimble full of coffee?  Sure...........

I had to sit in the truck for a while before I felt safe to drive.  So, after 50% of the cobwebs were cleared, I headed for the nearest convenience store that had a decent size cup of coffee and headed home.  Boy, was I tired!  So much for a good night's sleep, lol.  Haven't gotten official results yet, but the sweet technician with the coffee thimble looked me in the eye and said, "I think we'll be seeing you again"..................Great.  Next time, I'm taking my own pillows and a HUGE travel mug!  Better yet, I'll sneek my Iceman in to snuggle with.

Sugar is growing by leaps and bounds and is a little live wire.  She's either going full blast or sound asleep, with nothing in between.  She and Prissy play constantly and it's a lot of fun to watch.  I think Sugar is going to be an absolutely beautiful adult.  She has such great Schnauzer qualities already.

That's one of the rare moments that she's walking in stead of in a dead run, like this one, running with that poor bear she terrorizes constantly:

Til she completely runs out of gas and just falls asleep:

Thanks to everybody that have by stopped and said hello while I've been going around in circles.  I'll try and get around to catch up on everybody's blogs this weekend.

Good night, folks!
